Crusading Shapeshifters

You can say anything you want here. I'm what you call a genuine Christian, dig? I make free games as a hobby. These four Bitsy games in particular involve topics of Christianity, and they're mobile-friendly: The Feast, That Baptist Church, A Sudden Rain (kinda scary), and The Harvests. They only have a few minutes of content, so it'd be cool if you want to check them out. Anyway, not much to do here but chat and listen to music. I'll be posting text/images at the bottom so you guys don't have to open another tab to see it on mobile, which usually stops the playlist. I doubt I'll keep the same songs for long, unless requested or something. Peace out.

30 Dec 2022: I was inspired, especially by thecatamites (creator of Space Funeral), to make a short magazine collage thing, consisting of a creative-process manifesto, poems, humorous dialog, advice, and artwork. Here is what I have so far. It's a stand-alone creation, but I hope to add more things around ot so that it's more like a 5-page feature in the magazine.

11 Dec 2022: I decided to make a humble board game in Paint again soon, like the ones I used to make as a kid. But I'll be using what I've learned over the years to make the board more organized. It will be a race to the finish, like Candy Land or Chutes and Ladders, but with RPG elements. Non-blank spaces will be numbered and have a symbol to represent a type, such as Battle or Event. The only other clues for what Events are good or not will be the details on the board, such as treasure, or a character trapped in quicksand. There will be at least 1 PDF for the players to reference, with sections such as Event/Battle number look-ups, Enemy details, and Item/Ability details. Forward movement will be equal to a 3-sided dice roll, or (since 6-sided dice are much more common) half of a 6-sided dice result, rounded up (1 or 2: move 1 space, 3 or 4: move 2 spaces, 5 or 6: move 3 spaces), but players may choose to move forward 1 space instead of rolling the dice. Battle is done in a similar way. If a player loses all HP, they move backwards to the nearest Inn and skip their next turn to recover. If all goes well, I will make a tool in Game Maker that will allow players to move their character around the board using the mouse, with keys 1 and 2 being used to focus the camera on their own character. It could be set up to where players can load a board (an image file), and potentially character images in the same way. Until then, the idea is for players to highlight their character and move it around, or just place a dot of their color on the current space, then erase it after moving to a new space.

3 Dec 2022: Hex tessellations! Get your hyena pack hex tessellations here!

29 Nov 2022: Getting back into Troika. It seems like a good system. I should get some peeps together for an adventure one day. Here's a background I made for it.

19 Nov 2022: Did you listen to what God asked in the garden of Eden, after mankind was led astray? "Where are you?" Of course He knows, but do you?

12 Nov 2022: After a few setbacks with my original idea, I decided to dust off my laptop and try to make something really simple in Game Maker 8.0 Pro. I spent longer than I was hoping to, but the finished product is pretty much a variation of the "Click the Clown" demo game by the creator of Game Maker, Mark Overmars. It was actually very humbling to imitate one of the first Game Maker games I ever saw while learning how to program around 2006. I call my game "Devil's Waltz". You click or tap a mask as many times as you can within 20 seconds. Each time it's clicked, it will begin moving in a random direction and send an illusion in the opposite direction. The real mask's eye will twinkle every now and then. If you click an illusion, a spooky laugh will play (it's a modified version of the Joker's laugh from Fighter's Destiny 64). The music is an old waltz I wrote called "Spin Daddy" that was supposed to be for a game I was making with the same name, but I think it fits well here. I'll post some images and a link for the game below if you want to check it out.

10 Nov 2022: Signed up for the 20-second game jam at itch.io. Gotta think of a decent idea for this one. I kinda want it to be funny like a Warioware microgame. I'll probably also get some inspiration from Tant-R or Big Brain Academy. Maybe I'll finally make Halt, an old idea I had where you decide if a maze is solvable as fast as you can. In any case, I'll try to keep this place updated if I find anything cool or make a good amount of progress. Peace out, glowies

6 Nov 2022: I remember a few different game design tools were becoming popular when I was a kid. I'm glad I chose Game Maker and MyGameBuilder.com (now archived), but I think I would've liked to have made some things in RPG Maker. I have RPG Maker 2 and 2000, but I never spent enough time to make anything cool. I did find some videos showing off the Kirby Warrior RPG series, and I think they're phat. The first one's ultra basic, but I kinda like the look of it. Check it out:

5 Nov 2022: Yoooo, been busy with work, but things are slow enough now to update the site some. What's everybody been up to these days? I've been playing Metroid Dread and some other Switch games, and I went back and gave Rune Factory DS another chance. It's actually pretty fun now that I know what I'm doing. I've also been archive-divin to see what cool old stuff I can find. I remembered Mario Fan Games Galaxy and added a link to it (Click the green Yoshi banner in case you haven't found where I keep links), and I changed the playlist a lot to give it a more consistent atmosphere. Other than that, just some minor changes with GIFs, and I moved old posts to their own area.
